Tango Spark offers tango lessons in the Boston area. Whether you’re just starting or already comfortable on the dance floor, we offer weekly classes tailored to different levels of experience. Each class is one hour long, and each series runs for seven weeks.

Beginner
Ready to take your first steps in Argentine tango?
Our Beginner series is a fun, welcoming introduction designed for absolute beginners.
The series consists of 6 weekly lessons, each an hour long. You’ll learn the foundations of connection, walking together, ochos, the tango embrace, and simple turns—all at a relaxed pace that makes learning enjoyable.

Adv beginner
Building confidence and expanding your tango vocabulary.
After the Beginner series, continue your journey with our Advanced Beginner level. With four unique rotating series (A to D), you’ll develop your technique, deepen your understanding of connection, and start exploring improvisation. You’ll also be introduced to tango-specific drills and partner dynamics. These series can be taken in any order.
Intermediate
Level up with new vocabulary and refined technique.
The Intermediate level focuses on balance, mechanics, and musicality through more complex drills. Across six rotating series (A to F), we explore more complex elements like:
- Seamlessly changing embrace
- Turns with Sacadas
- Lapiz, Enrosques, Planeos, Barridas
- Alterations
- Boleos, Ganchos
- You’ll also begin working with musical phrasing and expression.
Prerequisites include being comfortable with drills, familiarity with material covered in Adv Beginner series or two years of social dance experience.
Adv Intermediate
Dive deep into classic tango sequences and musicality.
This level challenges dancers to combine vocabulary into elegant, expressive sequences. We’ll work on advanced drills and explore musical interpretation in greater depth.
